Aero Lever Gun Prototype Features & Specs
Aero Precision, a renowned manufacturer known for its AR-15s, AR-10s, pistol caliber carbines, and the Solus bolt gun, has now entered the modernized lever action rifle market. Although still in the prototype phase, the Aero Precision lever action rifle has already caught the attention of enthusiasts. During the SHOT Show, we had the opportunity to take a first look at this exciting new firearm and gather some key details about its features and specifications.
The Aero lever gun comes equipped with several common upgrades that are typically added to tactical lever guns. It boasts a 16-inch threaded barrel, allowing for the easy installation of muzzle brakes and suppressors. Additionally, it features a machined aluminum handguard with M-LOK slots and QD sockets for a sling.
The handguard extends into a full-length Picatinny top rail, complete with a ghost ring rear sight and fiber optic front sight. Available in various finishes, including OD green and FDE, the handguard, top rail, and stock offer customization options to suit individual preferences.
The receiver of the Aero Precision lever action rifle is equipped with an upgraded loading gate, aftermarket trigger, and a unique lever that complements the contour of the rifle's grip. The grip itself boasts polymer panels on either side, providing a textured grip reminiscent of an AR pistol grip.
Designed with a skeletonized aluminum frame, the Aero Precision lever action stock closely resembles existing aftermarket options. It features an adjustable cheek riser, attachment points for sidesaddle ammo carriers, and QD sling sockets. The stock is completed with a cushioned rubber buttpad and a length of pull adjustment spacer.
At launch, the Aero lever action rifle will be available in two popular rifle calibers: 30-30 and 45-70. However, the company has hinted at the release of more caliber choices in the future, promising some particularly intriguing options.
It's important to note that this is an early prototype, and certain details and finishing touches may change before it reaches production. However, based on our experience handling the gun and testing the action, it already exhibits an impressively smooth performance for this stage of development.
Release Date and Pricing
The release of the Aero Precision lever action rifle is tentatively scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024, according to Aero Precision staff. While pricing is currently estimated at $1,700 to $1,800, it is subject to change as the design and features are finalized.
Stag Arms Lever Action
Aero Precision's sister company, Stag Arms, will also introduce its own version of the lever action rifle. Designed with a focus on hunting, the Stag lever action rifle will feature iron sights, wood furniture, and a classic lever loop. This offering from Stag Arms will appeal to fans of traditional lever guns, providing a solid alternative to existing Marlin, Henry, and Winchester models.
