Hey friends, cool knife buy alert!
CRKT discontinued production of the Doug Ritter RSK Mk5 a few years back. This was a small, cool “Fits into an Altoids Can”, survival knife.
Smoky Mountain Knife Works has brought them back into production for 2021. Doug Ritter says that the knives are still made in the exact same factory as the original CRKT versions, using the same steel. This ensures that the quality remains the same.
These knives are now half the price of their original CRKT counterparts, and the street price is just $11.99 at Smoky Mountains Knife Works, as of this writing.
Altoids Can make a fixed-blade knife similar to this one for a comparable price.
Ritter and his associates put a lot of work into developing this little knife for real world survival use back in the day, which can read about at this link- http://www.dougritter.com/rsk_mk5.htm
The CRKT version is my favorite. It has been with me for many years.
This knife is a great addition to your micro-survival kits. In addition to the fact that it is a great tool for survival, purchasing one helps Doug's KnifeRights.org to help fund his fight for legal carry of knives in the country.
Cheers,
Jason
